As his son Kamal was growing up, his father had to give bribes at every little occassion so that the child becomes a police officer. He withheld an important municipal licence for businessman Sampat in order to get his daughter Kamini married to his son. Later Kamal finds out about his father's involvement with bribes. He is ashamed of him and arrests his father and has him tried in court. Kimtilal has only the following advice for his son that when a dishonest man is in court there will be enough people to support him compared to an honest man.
